CREDIT is a measure of school achievement. A student receives one-half unit of credit for successful completion of the work in a course that meets daily for one period, for one semester. A student receives one unit for successful completion of the work in a course that meets daily for one period for a full year.
A PREREQUISITE is a course or a condition that a student must successfully complete or meet requirements of before the course may be taken.
A REQUIRED COURSE is a course that a student must successfully complete in order to earn a District 230 diploma.
An ELECTIVE COURSE is a course that a student may choose to take in order to earn a credit toward a District 230 diploma.
